📖 How Stonehenge Transfers Began
Stonehenge Transfers began when a Salisbury taxi driver noticed that many journeys to Stonehenge were carrying only one or two passengers, even though other visitors often wanted to travel at similar times. This led to the idea of creating a practical ride-sharing service that could bring passengers together, use available vehicle capacity more efficiently and make travel to Stonehenge Visitor Centre more affordable by reducing the journey cost per person. Other local drivers joined the initiative, forming a driver-led booking service through which participating drivers provide shared and private journeys under the Stonehenge Transfers brand.

English Heritage Stone Circle Access passes grant exclusive 1-hour entry inside the megalithic stones outside public hours. Because public buses do not operate early morning or late evening, our private taxis handle dedicated transfers:

The reference fare for a journey in either direction between Salisbury Railway Station and Stonehenge Visitor Centre is £27.00 when Tariff 1 (daytime, 1–4 passengers) applies. The return journey is calculated separately using the tariff applicable at its own departure time.
